Accounts Assistant
Role type: Permanent, full time
Reports to: Fund Controller
Location: Park Lane, London
About the role
As an Accounts Assistant you will support fund controllers and accountants to carry out fund services to our portfolio of clients. Fund services provided will include fund management, depositary and fund administration.
Key Role and Responsibilities on activities as follows:
- Post invoices onto Xero software system.
- Run age creditor ledger of funds and set up payments.
- Ensure all rents are received (where applicable).
- Obtain AML/KYC documentation for client onboarding purposes and investor take on and run it through system to comply with AML/KYC regulations.
- Send invoices and transaction support to Thompson Taraz Rand, who prepare some of the fund accounting.
- Prepare the quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare/maintain cashflow forecasts for the various funds.
- Open bank accounts for new clients.
- Assist with the preparation of payment runs and coordinate approval as per agreed procedures.
- Adhere to internal control procedures.
- Any other task as may be defined by the Fund Controller or COO to meet the operational needs of the department.
- Develop an understanding of different fund types and structures.
Skills, knowledge and expertise:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA) currently working in an accounting practice and completing their studies. With an accounting degree, minimum 2:1 grade.
- Strong accounting skills, with a real attention to detail, and client facing skills.
- Highly organised with good time management and planning skills.
- Ability to problem solve, with an inquisitive mind, and capable of being a trouble-shooter.
- Highly productive, delivery focused and adaptable to ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner for our clients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- The capacity to propose positive change, coupled with the energy and enthusiasm to contribute toward the implementation.
