Business Development Associate

About the role
As Business Development Associate you will support the Business Development Director in the achievement of the new business growth targets and aspirations of the business. It is expected that to achieve this the Associate will establish new relationships with industry participants and prospective clients through desk-based research of industry publications and data sources, attendance at industry events, and carrying out meetings with contacts they establish. They will support the Business Development Director in meetings, pitches, and proposal preparation. The key output for the role is that the Business Development Associate personally generates leads that contribute to winning new business, further enabling TT’s growth ambitions. Fund services provided to clients will include Fund Management, CIS Operator, Fund Administration, and Depositary.
Key Role and Responsibilities on activities as follows:
- Identification of suitable industry participant contacts and prospect client contacts.
- Scheduling and attending of meetings with new and established contacts and client prospects.
- Attendance at industry events and award ceremonies.
- Supporting on preparation of client proposals and attendance at pitch meetings.
- Desk-based market and industry research, to be reported up to Business Development Director with business development related insights.
- Support on preparation of internal documents and deliverables such as BD budgets, meeting slide decks, and any other relevant outputs.
- Support with preparation of TT social media and website outputs, including Thought Leadership pieces.
- Support with management of TT website and marketing resources.
- Support with management of TT’s CRM system (HubSpot) including assistance with reporting outputs.
- Support with ongoing review of wider market, including competitors, and reporting back to Business Development Director.
Skills, knowledge and expertise:
- Degree educated (2:1 minimum), ideally with 1-2 years of working experience. Sales or related experience is preferable but not required.
- Well organised with good time management and planning skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Quick learner, keen to understand new subject matter and industry.
- Ability to problem solve, with an inquisitive mind, and capable of lateral thinking.
- Highly productive and results focused.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
